Today's agenda includes retail data and minutes from the last
Federal Reserve meeting.
J.C. Penney, Lowe's, and Staples report earnings before the opening
bell, along with ADT and Deere. L Brands and Williams Sonoma follow
in the afternoon.
The Commerce Department is scheduled to publish retail sales for
October at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists expect an increase of 0.1
percent, compared with a 0.1 percent drop the previous month.
The consumer-price index comes out at the same time but seldom
affects trading. Economists anticipate a flat reading for the
overall "headline" number and a 0.2 percent increase for the "core"
figure that excludes food and energy prices.
Existing home sales at 10 a.m. ET are forecast to come in at 5.2

in the morning, followed by AutoDesk, Gap, Intuit, Ross Stores, and
Pandora Media after the closing bell.
