VeriFone Systems, Inc.
(
PAY
) recently announced that it had received contracts from New
Balance and Samsonite for deploying its GlobalBay Mobile Point of
Sale (mPOS) platform for the iPOD touch. The niche benefit derived
from the mPOS solution is that it makes the store associate
flexible. An individual can now be operational from any point, for
improved and easy customer service management.
Other features of the GlobalBay applications offered by VeriFone
to store associates include hassle-free access to inventory and
price, besides product technicalities and previous order records.
when combined the platform enhances customer satisfaction and
also caters to management efficiency, making it a really attractive
solution package for retailers worldwide.
VeriFone retailer facilities apart from its mPOS solution
include the Payware Mobile Enterprise card encryption solution for
the iPod touch. This allows for card acceptance, payment
transaction encryption facility and VeriFone's PAYware Connect
gateway services.
This has been a pretty impressive and productive week for the
company. A new flexible and inexpensive payment-as-a-service
platform was introduced called SAIL on May 8, 2012. The platform is
completely compatible with all types of mobile devices available in
the market. The objective is to allow for major market share
proliferation.
On May 7, 2012,
Manhattan Associates, Inc.
(
MANH
) declared that it has received a contract from The Container Store
for its SCOPE(R) supply chain services. Hence, VeriFone should
remain wary of similar advances by competitors in the industry.
The current Zacks Consensus Estimate for the second quarter of
2012 and for fiscal 2012 is 53 cents per share and $2.33 per share,
respectively. The company currently retains a Zacks #3 Rank, which
translates into a short-term Hold rating. However, we presently
maintain our Neutral recommendation on the stock.
