Republicans Drop Tax Cuts in Last Ditch Healthcare Plan

The Republican party unveiled a revised healthcare plan yesterday in an effort to save the legislation, and the plan included the deletion of a major component. Opponents had railed against the the big tax cut for the wealthy that was held in the package, and as a response, the party has now done away with that aspect. The new plan also increased the amount of bare bones plans available to provide coverage for low income families, a concession to moderate Republicans. Despite the changes it was still unclear whether the party has enough votes in the Senate to get the measure through, as it would need to win over several dissenters.

FINSUM : So these are nice concessions for middle of the road Republicans, but they will do nothing to win over those on the more conservative end of the spectrum. We think this whole plan might be doomed.
