(RTTNews.com) - A newspaper in Asia is reporting that Apple's ( AAPL ) highly-anticipated "iWatch" computer is already in small-scale production.

The China Times says Apple is expected to launch the wearable device in the second half of this year.

Production will be ramped up to nearly 3 million devices in the second quarter, and will increase to 14 to 15 million in the third quarter, industry supply chain sources tell the Taiwan paper.

The device is said to feature a system-in-package (SiP) design, allowing the appearance of a sleek, thin wristwatch.

Meanwhile, Apple-watching blog MacRumors says the company has already started work on trademarking the "iWatch" name in a number of countries in preparation for a late 2014 launch.

Expect a 'fashionable' device running iOS with biometrics and other features providing integration with other iOS devices, according to MacRumors.
