Real Goods Solar Rockets 29% Higher on Smart Energy Capital Partnership; Will Supply Energy to Calif. Schools

Real Goods Solar Inc. ( RSOL ) shares have shot up 28.57% to $2.07 after the company's RGS Energy entered into a partnership with Smart Energy Capital (SEC) to provide Stockton Unified School District with 5.1 megawatts ( MW ) of solar power to 18 schools and facilities in California.

The solar installations are expected to save the district $600,000 in the first year, which will directly benefit school programs and services district wide.

RSOL is trading in a 52-week range of $0.40 - $2.83.
