Praxair Inks Purchase Deal with Honeywell Unit; Praxair Slightly Higher, Honeywell Slightly Lower

Shares of Praxair, Inc. ( PX ) edged up 0.15% at $107.18 and touched a day high $107.76 after it announced it signed a 15-year agreement with Honeywell Resins & Chemicals ( HON ) for the purchase of carbon dioxide.

The plant, which is scheduled to start in Q3 2013, is expected to produce 450 tons per day which will be used primarily in food freezing and processing as well as beverage applications.

PX trades in a 52-week range of $89.75 - $116.93; shares have increased 13% in the last 12 months. HON is down 0.18% at $59.79, shy of the year high of $62.00. Shares have increased 44% in the last 12 months.
