Positive News From US on Jobs And From Greece On Debt Swap Has European Bourses Higher In Regular, Futures Trading

European stock markets rose in both the regular session and in futures action as jobs growth in the United States was solid for a third straight month in February. Across The Pond, the Greek debt swap was moving along without major incident. As a result, Germany's Dax Index rose the most, higher by 1.07% at 6,907.49. The FTSE 100 Index is at 5,896.64, up 36.91 and 0.63%. The French CAC 40 Index is at 3,504.06, up 25.70 and 0.74%. Each has continued to climb in the futures market, with the Dax Index higher by 72.00.

In the United States, employers added 227,000 jobs in February to hold the unemployment rate at a three-year low of 8.3%. More goods news from the United States as not only did jobs growth come in better than the 210,000 mark expected by economists, but the Department of Labor said that 61,000 more jobs were created in December and January than previously estimated.

It has been a bullish week and year for the National Bank of Greece ( NBG ) with the debt crisis abating. The National Bank of Greece is up 10.94% for the last week of trading. Year to date, the National Bank of Greece has risen 79.29%. Over the last 52 weeks of trading, however, the euro zone debt crisis has taken its toll as the National Bank of Greece is off by 59.43%.

*Rogers International Commodity Index (RCT) is at 3,871.88, up 7.90%.


*Gold ( GLD ) is at $1,683.50, down $15.20 and 0.90%.

*Oil (USO) is at $106.73, up $0.15 and 0.14%.

*Corn (CORN) is at $635.50, down $3.25 and 0.51%.

*Copper (JJC) is at $379.950, up $0.800 and 0.21%.


*EUR/USD (FXE) is at $1.3125, down 1.13%.

*GBP/USD (FXB) is at $1.5706, down 0.78%.
