New York State Opens Probe into Currency Trading Practices at a Dozen Banks -Bloomberg TV

New York State's financial regulator has opened an investigation into the currency trading practices at several large banks, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday on its website, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Benjamin Lawsky, superintendent of the state's Department of Financial Services, has requested documents on the trading practices of more than a dozen bank, including Goldman Sachs Group Inc. ( GS ), Deutsche Bank AG ( DB ), Lloyds Banking Group PLC ( LYG ), Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBS.LN), Credit Suisse Group AG ( CS ) and Standard Chartered PLC (STAN.LN), Bloomberg reported.

Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse declined comment to Bloomberg and Goldman Sachs, Lloyds, RBS and Standard Chartered didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
