Morning Movers: Valeant Jumps, U.S. Steel Gains, Biogen Rises

Stocks look set for a higher open this morning as tech stocks look set to rebound.

S&P 500 futures have risen 0.3%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures have advanced 0.3%. Nasdaq Composite futures have gained 0.8%.

Agco (AGCO) has advanced 1% to $68.02 after getting upgraded to Neutral from Underperform at BofA Merrill Lynch.

United States Steel (X) has risen 2.2% to $20.60 after getting upgraded to Buy from Neutral at Longbow. Longbow also upgraded AK Steel (AKS), Nucor (NUE), and Steel Dynamics (STLD).

Biogen (BIIB) has risen 1.1% to $254.50 after getting upgraded to Neutral from Sell at UBS.

Clovis Oncology (CLVS) has soared 45% to $87.25 after its ovarian cancer drug slowed the cancer's progression in a late-stage trial.

Kroger (KR) has gained 2% to $22.74 as a Morgan Stanley downgrade to Equal Weight from Overweight seems a bit late following last week's 28% drop.

Rice Energy (RICE) has surged 28% to $25.30 after agreeing to be acquired for $6.7 billion by EQT (EQT). EQT has dropped 5.3% to $55.68,

Seattle Genetics (SGEN) has tumbled 11% to $57.34 after halting a drug trial for its leukemia drug.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (VRX) has climbed 2.8% to $13.01 after hedge-fund manager John Paulson agreed to join its board.
