Electric components maker Emerson Electric Co. ( EMR ) on Friday caught some continued bullish commentary from analysts at Morgan Stanley.

The firm reiterated its "Overweight" rating and $56 price target on EMR, suggesting a 23% upside to the stock's Thursday closing price of $45.56.

A Morgan Stanley analyst commented, "According to our European Cap Goods team, under UK Takeover Code, this statement - made in response to yesterday's 27% spike in the Invensys share price - will typically prevent Emerson from re-entering negotiations for 6 months; unless a bid is made by a another party, in which case Emerson can counter bid. However, dispensation can be given for re-negotiations after 3 months under certain circumstances (typically if Invensys agrees it wants to open talks again)."

Emerson Electric shares were mostly flat in premarket trading Friday.
