Markets off to a slow Monday start


U.S. stocks are down Monday morning as markets around the world were off to a slow start for the week. The S&P 500 is down .21% and the Dow is off .17% in the premarket.

Asian markets were mixed Monday. The Nikkei ended down 0.37%, and the Hang Seng lost 0.02%. In Europe , markets are all heading down this morning as the German industrial production numbers were weak. The FTSE is down 0.24%, and the German DAX has slipped 0.16%.

In energy futures , West Texas Intermediate crude oil is up $0.13 and natural gas is down $0.55. In metals, gold is down $6.30, and platinum is up $2.70. The Dollar is up over the Euro and down versus the Yen.

Petrobras Argentina SA ( PZE ), King Digital Entertainment plc ( KING ), United Microelectronics Corporation ( UMC ), are up. GT Advanced Technologies Inc. ( GTAT ), PolyOne Corporation ( POL ) and The Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland ( IRE )are down.
