Markets look for direction to start the week


U.S. stocks are moving up to start the week. The S&P 500 is up 0.38% and the Dow is up 0.33%. New Home Sales for July will be released at 10:00 today.

In Asia , markets were mixed Monday. The Shanghai Composite was down 0.51% and the Nikkei was up 0.48%.

European stocks are rising today after European Central Bank President Mario Draghi suggested in Jackson Hole, Wyo. that more stimulus could be on the way. The CAC 40 is up 1.10%, and the DAX is up 1.02%.

Energy futures are up this morning. The West Texas Intermediate crude oil price per barrel is $93.79, up $0.14 and natural gas is up $0.07. Metals prices are up today. Gold is down $1.00 and platinum is up $1.06. The Dollar is down versus the Euro and the Yen.

Tim Hortons Inc. ( THI ), Burger King Worldwide, Inc.( BKW ), and King Digital Entertainment plc ( KING ), are up today.  Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. ( CLF ), JetBlue Airways Corporation ( JBLU ) and The Procter & Gamble Company ( PG ) are down.
