The market continues to big moves during earnings-related season, as plenty of names are seeing big swings. It was another week of solid gains for the indices.

Winners today included Eastman Chemical ( EMN ), Caterpillar ( CAT ), and Occidental Petroleum ( OXY ). On the flipside, V.F. Corp ( VFC ), Cliffs Natural Resources ( CLF ), Microsoft ( MSFT ), and Weyerhaeuser ( WY ) all saw profit-taking. VFC has been a big winner for us and we are looking deeper at the report to see if it is a name worth exiting at this time. We will keep subscribers posted of any changes we make with the company or any other dividend stock on our "Best Dividend Stocks" List .

Be sure to check out the latest dividend stock we added to our recommended list today if you didn't read the e-mail alert we sent out earlier. Yesterday also saw another huge batch of companies raise their dividend payouts , which we of course detailed in our daily members-only post.

Let's take a look at some more elements of success to help end the week on a positive note:

1.Successful people put their money to work, while others work and lose their grasp on their money.

Clearly, the way to get rich is to invest your money in income-producing assets or investing in yourself (business, financial education, investment research, etc.). Those who work to spend are basically working for us investors when you think about it. Rich people use the interest they make from their investments to buy whatever they want, without hardly ever having to touch the principal.

2.Successful people climb the walls of worry while others see problems as insurmountable.

This point comes down to keeping a positive perspective. Anyone that views every opportunity as a waste of their time will always be on the crowded sidelines watching as wealth and success are built for others. The people who recognize what the problems are usually focus on the solutions and change the world in the process.

3.Successful people learn throughout their lifetime while others believe they know enough.

If you want to continue to scale upwards in your life, you need to keep reading and keep learning. Opportunities in business, investing, and careers are popping up every day of the year. If you are tuned out, you will miss out.

Looking ahead, the deluge of earnings reports will continue next week. Look for quarterly results from heavy hitters like Prudential ( PRU ), Kraft Foods ( KFT ), CVS Caremark ( CVS ), and Kellogg ( K ), just to name a few.
