Market Close Report: NASDAQ Composite index closes at 3,072.87 down -31.25 points

Thursday's session closes with the NASDAQ Composite Index at 3,072.87.
The total shares traded for the NASDAQ was over 1.98 billion shares traded. Declining stocks led advancers by 2.18 to 1 ratio. There were 776 advancers and 1688 decliners for the day. On the NASDAQ Stock Exchange 56 stocks reached a 52 week high and 23 those reaching lows totaled. The NASDAQ 100 index closed down -1.13% for the day; a total of -31.45 points. The current value is 2,744.17. Google Inc. ( GOOG ) had the largest percent change down (-8.01%) while Lam Research Corporation ( LRCX ) had the largest percent change gain rising 7.24%.

The Dow Jones index closed down -.06% for the day; a total of -8.06 points. The current value is 13,548.94. American Express Company ( AXP ) had the largest percent change down (-2.96%) while The Travelers Companies, Inc. ( TRV ) had the largest percent change gain rising 3.59%.
