Market Close Report: NASDAQ Composite index closes at 2,973.70 down -22.99 points

Wednesday's session closes with the NASDAQ Composite Index at 2,973.70. The total shares traded for the NASDAQ was over 1.77 billion. Declining stocks led advancers by 1.34 to 1 ratio. There were 1042 advancers and 1397 decliners for the day. On the NASDAQ Stock Exchange 28 stocks reached a 52 week high and 20 those reaching lows totaled. The NASDAQ 100 index closed down -1.12% for the day; a total of -30 points. The current value is 2,637.89. Apple Inc. ( AAPL ) had the largest percent change down (-4.75%) while Seagate Technology. ( STX ) had the largest percent change gain rising 4.31%.

The Dow Jones index closed up .64% for the day; a total of 82.71 points. The current value is 13,034.49. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. ( WMT ) had the largest percent change down (-.65%) while Bank of America Corporation ( BAC ) had the largest percent change gain rising 6.1%.
