Market Chatter: Southern Copper Resumes Normal Operations After 2-Day Strike; Shares Edge Lower

Southern Copper Corp. ( SCCO )'s mine and smelter operations are operating normally after workers ended a two-day strike, Bloomberg News reports.

According to human resources Director Alberto Giles, less than half the workers at the company's Cuajone and Toquepala copper mines and Ilo smelter participated in the strike on December 24-25. Giles told Bloomberg he didn't have any information about the effect of the work stoppage on copper production.

SCCO is down 0.1% to $37.70, trading in a 52-week range of $27.72 - $39.44.
