Market Chatter: Canadian Solar Gains 3% On Positive Barron's Article; Many Solar Stocks Benefiting

Solar electric products company Canadian Solar ( CSIQ ) shares are up 3% to $30.35 but are off a session high $31.04 as a Barron's article features solar stock rated Buy at Roth Capital. Other Buy-rated stocks highlighted are JinkoSolar Holding ( JKS ), little changed, and Trina Solar ( TSL ) up 2.5%.

The article notes, Roth Capital is focusing on companies with profitable quarterly reports and price-to-book return on equity valuations, among other fundamental considerations.

Other noted Solar stocks getting a lift today are China Sun Energy ( CSUN ) up 4%, LDK Soloar Co Ltd ( LDK ) up 4.3% and First Solar (FSLR) up 1.75%.

CSIQ is up 766% year-to-date and has traded in a 52-week price range $2.52 - $33.25 per share.
