Latin American Stocks Broadly Higher, Supported by Gains for Crude Oil, Gold, Other Metals

Latin American markets are mostly higher today, supported by price gains today for crude oil and gold and other metals. Global markets also are rising today on signs European officials are inching toward resolution of the region's debt crisis.

Here's where the Latin American markets stand today:

- Ibovespa +96.72 +0.17% 58,406.13.

- IPC (Mexico City) +226.67 +0.55% 41,232.73.

- Santiago Index IPSA -22.71 -0.54% 4,167.47.

- Merval Buenos Aires +13.03 +0.54% 2,435.95.

In company news, U.S.-listed shares of LATAM Airlines Group S.A. ( LFL ) are off nearly 3% this afternoon following a downgrade of the Chilean air carrier by Bank of America/Merrill Lynch to Underperform from a Neutral rating.
