Latin American Markets Mixed To Lower As Investors Await European Stimulation

Latin American markets are mixed to lower today as investors wait moves by European officials to keep the eurozone intact.

Here's where the regional markets stand this afternoon:

- Ibovespa up 430.32 (+0.73%) to 59,713.41

- IPC (Mexico City) down 3.45 (+0.01%) to 40,346.55.

- Santiago Index IPSA down 9.10 (-0.2%) to 4,265.28.

- Merval Buenos Aires down 9.12 (-0.4%) to 2,450.83.

In company news, shares of Banco Santander, S.A. ( SAN ) are up about 19% this afternoon, brushing back any ill effect from a JPMorgan Chase downgrade from Overweight to Neutral.
