Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Altera (ALTR): Some 3,000 January 32 calls were bought, most of which priced for $1.30, as investors look for the semiconductor company to rebound from last month's selloff. ALTR rose 066 percent to $32.22.

Hercules Offshore (HERO): Some 2,250 January 6 calls were sold, mostly for $0.65 to $0.75. Volume was below open interest at the strike, so it looks like existing long positions were closed. HERO rose 0.15 percent to $6.57.

SPDR Barclays High-Yield bond fund (JNK): More than 12,600 January 37.74 puts were bought for $0.15 as investors position for downside. JNK fell 0.07 percent to $40.51.
