Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.


Wells Fargo (WFC): An investor sold 39,000 April 40 calls for $0.11 and rolled the position the May 40s, which he or she bought for $0.20. The trade cost $0.09 and gives them an additional month of upside exposure. WFC rose 2.53 percent to $37.91.

Bank of America (BAC): More than 50,000 April 13 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.21 to $0.26, as investors look for upside in the share price. BAC rose 3.39 percent to $12.52.

Freescale Semiconductor (FSL): More than 12,000 March 16 calls were bought for $0.05, but volume was below open interest. That suggests an existing short position was closed. FSL dropped 2.39 percent to $15.53.

Weatherford International (WFT): An investor bought 5,000 March 12 puts for $0.04 against open interest and sold 5,000 April 12 puts for $0.39, rolling a short position forward in time. He or she collected an incremental credit of $0.35 and have an additional month in the trade. WFT rose 1.75 percent to $12.22.
