Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Eli Lilly (LLY): Some 10,000 January 52.50 calls were purchased for $0.35 and an equal number of January 55 calls were sold for $0.10. The trade cost $0.25 and will earn a maximum profit of 900 if the stock closes at or above $55 on expiration. LLY rose 1.96 percent to $48.40.

U.S. Airways (LCC): More than 9,000 December 15 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.20 as investors look for the airline stock to keep climbing. LCC fell 0.24 percent to $12.58.

Sprint Nextel (S): Activity surged in the February 6 calls and the January 2014 7 calls for $0.20, but volume was far below open interest at each contract. S rose 1.08 percent to $5.61.

Bank of America (BAC): Some 5,000 January 7 puts were bought for $1.08 as investors brace for a potential drop. BAC rose 0.21 percent to $9.41.

Research In Motion (RIMM): More than 6,000 January 9 puts traded, mostly for $1.11 to $1.18, but volume was below open interest at the strike. RIMM is up 1.99 percent to $8.71.
