Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

SPDR Barclays High-Yield Bond Fund (JNK): An investor bought 3,000 September 39 puts and 3,000 September 39 calls for about $1.80 and $0.40, respectively. Some 2,000 contracts were sold around the same time in the June 38.74 calls and June 38.74 puts for $0.45, indicating that a long straddle was rolled from one month to the next. JNK fell 0.20 percent to $38.28.

Wal-Mart Stores (WMT): More than 5,000 June 65 calls were purchased for $3.20, but volume was below open interest in the strike. WMT fell 0.15 percent to $68.12.

Focus Media (FMCN): An investor bought 10,000 January 17.50 puts for $3.50. He or she also sold 10,000 contracts each in the January 12.50 puts for $1.25 and the January 30 calls for $1.40. The bearish trade resulted in a cost of $0.85 will earn a maximum profit of 488 percent if the Chinese advertising company closes at or below $12.50 on expiration. FMCN fell 1.27 percent to $20.25. Bank of America (BAC): Volume surged in the June 8 calls, but volume was below open interest in the strike. BAC fell 1.85 percent to $7.42.
