Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Yahoo (YHOO): Investors purchased more than 15,000 April 16 calls for $1.51, looking for upside in the stock. YHOO rose 0.67 percent to $15.12.

Dendreon (DNDN): An investor bought about 5,300 January 6 puts and sold an equal number of January 9 calls, positioning for a potential drop in the share price. DNDN rose 0.54 percent to $7.45.

Apple (AAPL): Investors bought the January 405 calls for $6.70, betting that the shares will push higher into the New Year. AAPL fell 0.22 percent to $379.36.

Caterpillar (CAT): About 3,600 January 85 puts were bought for $3.55 as investors positioned for downside in the stock. CAT rose 1.08 percent to $87.94.

Juniper Networks (JNPR): More than 5,000 January 20 calls were purchased for $0.65, but volume was below open interest. JNPR rose 2.01 percent to $18.49.
