Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Bank of America (BAC): Some 100,000 November 9 calls were purchased for $0.25 and a similar number of November 10 calls were sold for $0.07. That's a bullish call spread for a cost of $0.18, with a maximum profit of 455 percent on a move back to $10. BAC rose 4.40 percent to $8.30.

Banco Santander (SAN): Almost 25,000 January 2014 12 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.35, as traders position for long-term gains in the Spanish lender. SAN rose 4.17 percent to $7.49.

Facebook (FB): More than 60,000 September 19 weekly calls expiring tomorrow were purchased, mostly for $0.20 to $0.35, as investors look for a quick rally in the share price. FB rose 2.18 percent to $19.99

General Electric (GE): Some 7,400 September 20 puts were bought, but volume was far below open interest. GE rose 2.62 percent to $21.19.

J.C. Penney (JCP): Volume surged in the October 25 puts and the October 22 puts as investors look for the shares to push lower. JCP rose 3.48 percent to $27.35.
