Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Microsoft (MSFT): Investors purchased 12,000 January 2014 40 calls for $0.59, betting on a rally over the long term. MSFT fell 0.89 percent to $30.12.

Marvell (MRVL): More than 13,000 January 7.50 puts were purchased, mostly for $0.28, as investors positioned for downside in the share price. MRVL fell 2.16 percent to $9.04.

Safeway (SWY): Traders purchased about 9,800 March 13 puts for $0.60 in anticipation of the grocery stock heading lower. SWY fell 1.83 percent to $16.06.

Bank of America (BAC): More than 17,000 December 8 puts were bought, mostly for $0.29, as investors looked for the stock to decline. BAC fell 1.25 percent to $8.81.
