Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.


Vodafone (VOD): A block of 30,000 October 30 calls was bought for $0.20, along with 10,000 September 29 calls for $0.30. VOD fell 1.25 percent to $27.62.

Ford Motor (F): Investors bought more than 22,000 weekly 9 puts expiring this Friday, looking for the automaker to push lower in the near term. Most of the contracts priced for $0.12 to $0.17. F declined 1.25 percent to $9.06

Elan (ELN): An investor bought 10,000 October 13 puts for $2.90, but volume was below open interest. That suggests he or she closed a money-losing short position after the stock fell. ELN is down 12 percent to $11.89.

JP Morgan (JPM): Almost 9,000 weekly 33 puts were bought for $0.05 to $0.09 as investors position for downside in the near term. JPM rose 0.29 percent to $34.54.
