Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Merck (MRK): Some 100,000 October 45 calls were purchased, mostly for $3.85 and $3.77 as investors positioned for upside in the pharmaceutical giant. MRK rose 0.08 percent to $47.84.

Intel (INTC): More than 10,000 September 25 puts were bought for $1.06 and $1.07 as investors brace for a pullback in the chip maker. INTC rose 1.63 percent to $25.51.

Micron (MU): Some 11,000 January 2015 7 puts were bought for $0.56, but volume was below open interest at the strike. MU rose 1.89 percent to $13.49.
