Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Phillips 66 (PSX): A block of 10,356 January 44 calls were purchased for $1.90 as one investor looks for the refinery stock to keep running. PSX fell 2.31 percent to $40.59.

Sprint Nextel (S): About 10,000 October 5 calls were bought for $0.45 and a similar number of October 6 calls were sold for $0.13. Known as a bullish call spread, the position will leverage a rally in the wireless-telecom name. S fell 1.38 percent to $5.01.

Cheniere Energy (LNG): More than 10,000 October 16 calls were bought, mostly for $0.50, as investors position for upside in the natural-gas tanker company. LNG rose 1.26 percent to $14.42.

Oracle (ORCL): Investors bought the October 30 puts for about $0.66 and sold the October 27s for about $0.20, positioning for downside in the software giant. More than 5,800 contracts traded at each strike. ORCL fell 0.22 percent to $31.68.
