Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

NRG Energy (NRG): Some 15,000 December 24 calls were purchased for $0.15 as investors positioned for further gains this week. NRG rose 1.09 percent to $23.25.

Bank of America (BAC): Investors purchased almost 48,000 December 11 calls, looking for the stock to keep rising. BAC rose 2.65 percent to $10.86.

U.S. Natural Gas fund (UNG): More than 10,000 January 11 puts traded against open interest, likely resulting from an investor buying back a winning short trade in the contracts. UNG rose 0.79 percent to $19.02.

Air Methods (AIRM): Volume surged in the December 65 calls and puts as a trader implemented a directionless arbitrage trade. AIRM fell 1.32 percent to $109.
