Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Largest Equities Intel (INTC): A block of 15,000 December 25 calls was bought and an equal number of January 25s were sold, apparently the rolling of a short position. INTC rises 2.54 percent to $24.64.

Vale (VALE): A block of 6,000 March 30 calls were bought at the same time that 7,000 January 2013 20 puts were sold for $2.50 as an investor positions for upside. VALE rose 5.61 percent to $24.09.

Ford Motor (F): More than 9,000 November 13 calls were bought for $0.29 to 40.33 as an investor positioned for upside. F rose 2.77 percent to $12.60.

Walt Disney (DIS): A block of 5,000 25 puts were bought for $0.75 as an investor positioned for downside. DIS rose 1.39 percent to $35.65.

PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ): More than 5,000 December 50 puts were bought as investors positioned for downside. QQQ rose 2.02 percent to $58.46.

Microsoft (MSFT): Investors bought the November 27 puts, seeking protection against a drop. MSFT rose 0.59 percent to $27.32.
