Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Bank of America (BAC): Investors purchased about 78,000 October 10 calls for $0.07 and $0.08, looking for the stock to rally over the next three weeks. BAC rose 3.28 percent to $9.12.

Best Buy (BBY): Investors sold 22,000 October 19 calls and partially rolled the position to the November 19 contracts, buying 15,000 at the later month for $0.905. BBY rose 0.23 percent to $17.24.

National Oilwell Varco (NOV): Some 5,000 November 67.50 puts were bought for $0.43, but volume was below open interest at the strike. NOV rose 1.35 percent to $81.19.

Facebook (FB): More than 17,000 October 23 calls were sold, mostly for 0.70 and $0.75, against open interest, possibly because investors are exiting long positions in the name. FB rose 2.36 percent to $22.17.
