Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

International Paper (IP): Some 30,000 January 43 calls were bought for 0.10 as investors look for upside in the share price. IP fell 3.20 percent to $35.22.

Groupon (GRPN): About 30,000 April 4 calls were bought for $1.20 as investors look for the shares to bounce. GRPN fell 0.57 percent to $4.40.

Facebook (FB): Investors bought the November 23 puts for $1.30 and sold the November 20 puts for $0.30. Known as a put spread, the trade cost $1 and will earn 200 percent if the social-networking stock closes at $20 or lower on expiration. FB is down 1.64 percent to $22.85.

Microsoft (MSFT): Investors purchased 5,000 October 28 puts for $0.18, positioning for downside in the software maker. MSFT rose 0.05 percent to $27.92.
