Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Vodafone (VOD): An investor bought 16,000 July 27 calls for $1.05 and sold a matching number of July 24 puts for about $0.58. The trade resulted in a net cost of $0.47 and is similar to owning shares in the telecom giant. VOD rose 2.38 percent to $26.72.

iStar Financial (SFI): An investor purchased 10,000 January 12 calls, looking for the real-estate investment trust to keep climbing over the next year. SFI rose 3.99 percent to $9.07.

Nokia (NOK): More than 15,000 weekly 4.50 calls expiring tomorrow were bought. Volume was below open interest, so traders may have been closing previous short positions. NOK fell 4.72 percent to $4.42.

Texas Instruments (TXN): Almost 11,000 February 33 puts were purchased, mostly for $0.45 to $0.52, but volume was below open interest at the strike. TXN fell 1.09 percent to $33.44.
