Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Chesapeake Energy (CHK): Investors bought 25,000 October 22 calls for $0.80, looking for upside in the share price. An equal number of July 9 puts were sold earlier in the morning for $0.55 while 12,500 October 13 puts were bought in an apparent ratio spread. It's not clear whether the calls and the puts were linked. CHK rose 0.34 percent to $14.70. (See related story )

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX): Some 20,000 May 34 puts were sold for $0.73 and an equal number of June 29 puts were bought at the same time for $0.39. Volume was below open interest in the Mays, indicating that an existing downside position was rolled forward by one month. FCX rose 1.93 percent to $33.28. (See related story )

Cisco Systems (CSCO): More than 15,000 January 20 calls were purchased for $0.53, but volume was far below open interest. CSCO rose 1.15 percent to $16.73.
