Insiders at Southern buying shares

Bobby Raines 11/05/2013

David Grain, who sits on the board at Southern Co. ( SO ) , and Mark Crosswhite, an officer at the company, made significant investments in the company's common stock recently. Grain bought 10,000 shares on Nov. 1 for $41.13, paying a total of $411,318. Crosswhite bought 7,247 shares at prices ranging from $40.99 to $41.19 for a total of $305,904.

IK-> The technicals for SO ($41.47 down $0.02) are bearish with a neutral trend. Recent support has been around $40.72 and recent resistance has been around $42.33. Standard & Poor's has a four STARs (out of five) rating on the stock. Look at the Feb. 34/38 bull-put spread for a 23-cent credit. That's a 6.10% return and the stock has to fall 8.4% to cause a problem.  [InvestorsKeyhole, Various news and data services]
