Goldman Sachs Boosts Target, Estimates for Molson Coors, but Still a “Neutral” (TAP)

By Dividend.com August 08, 2012, 09:09:47 AM EDT

Beer brewer Molson Coors Brewing Company ( TAP ) on Wednesday caught some positive commentary from analysts at Goldman Sachs.

The firm maintained its "Neutral" rating on TAP but lifted its price target from $46 to $47. That new target suggests a 9.5% upside to the stock's Tuesday closing price of $42.92.

A Goldman analyst commented, "We remain Neutral on TAP as valuation is admittedly enticing, but TAP is still losing market share in both US and Canada, and Starbev acquisition adds increased P&L volatility." Continuing, "We wait for signs of improving market share performance in US/Canada and greater visibility on Central European profitability to become more bullish."

To reflect TAP's recent earnings beat, the firm also lifted its full-year 2012 earnings estimate for the company to $4.08 per share.

Molson Coors shares were mostly flat in premarket trading Wednesday.

The Bottom Line
