Goldcorp Shares Shine; Up More than 9% on Precious Metals Rally After Poor Jobs Data

Shares of Goldcorp ( GG ) are up 9.5% to $39.66 and have touched a day high $39.95, as market participants have bid up the price of gold to above the $1600 per ounce level -- a gain of over 3% on the day as a poor jobs report earlier today has investors flocking to safe haven investments such as gold. The economy created only 69,000 jobs in May and the unemployment rate rose from 8.1% to 8.2%.

GG shares have traded in a day range of $37.26 - $39.95.

GG shares have traded in a 52-week range of $32.16 - $56.31.
