Germany: GDP slows down in Q2

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - German GDP increased 0.1% in the second quarter of 2011, down from 1.3% registered the previous quarter, according to data released by Destatis. Analysts expected a slightly higher result of 0.5%.

On an annual basis German GDP rose in the second quarter of 2011 to 2.8%, following 5.0% growth in the first quarter, below expectations of a 3.2% reading.

German GDP w.d.a. grew in Q2 2.7% on the year, in comparison with 4.9%, registered the previous quarter and less than the market consensus of 2.9%.
