General Electric Set to Acquire Monsal - Analyst Blog

Diversified industrial conglomerate General Electric Company ( GE ) recently inked a definitive agreement to acquire Monsal - a U.K.-based renewable technology business, for an undisclosed amount.

Monsal is one of the leading players among innovative renewable companies, thanks to its advanced anaerobic digestion technology, which turns solid bulk waste into renewable energy. Leveraging Monsal's advanced technology and industry expertise, municipalities and industrial manufacturers will be able to shift from disposing wastewater treatment by-products to generating renewable energy. This acquisition will enhance General Electric's wastewater treatment product offerings and provide energy efficient solutions to its customers.

This acquisition will be a win-win situation for both the companies as it will enhance General Electric's wastewater treatment division and propel Monsal's technology to a global audience. General Electric's expertise and reach in the municipal and industrial water treatment industry globally is in sync with Monsal's overall strategy for international expansion. It further strengthens General Electric's commitment to energy reduction and its objective to build energy-neutral wastewater treatment plants.
