Forex Flash: Mining boom to peak in 2015 – NAB

By FXstreet.com August 27, 2012, 11:46:00 AM EDT

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Some of the work on Australian mining projects could be delayed in the coming months, for example due to technical problems and issues arising during the construction and engineering work. According to the NAB Analyst Team however, "we estimate that 95% of this work will still be completed - hence our conclusion is that the peak in investment could be as late 2015."

Practically all of the projects, which have been deferred so far, have been classified as the Less Advanced list. That is to say, they were never certainties anyway. So far about USD $260B of projects on the Advanced Projects list is still going ahead. This represents nearly 20% of Australia's entire GDP, a massive share, probably the largest resources investment boom in Australia's history - certainly the largest in the past century.
