Forex Flash: Global growth to accelerate to +3.3% in 2013 – Goldman Sachs

By FXstreet.com January 14, 2013, 10:53:00 AM EDT

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - According to the Economics Research Team at Goldman Sachs, "We expect global growth to improve from +3.1% in 2012 to +3.3% in 2013, and to accelerate further towards +4.1% in 2014. In particular, we see this year as improving upon last year in three other dimensions: our profile for growth shows sequential acceleration through the year; European risks are smaller than in 2012 following the ECB's OMT program; and the oil supply constraint on global growth is loosening."

In the near-term however, "we could see headwinds from the debt limit negotiations and continued sluggish US growth in Q1 2013, before a reacceleration later in the year." the team notes.
