A man and woman allegedly shot and killed two officers Sunday at a Las Vegas pizzeria, fatally shot a woman at a nearby Wal-Mart and then turned the guns on themselves in what police described as an apparent suicide pact.

The suspects walked into the pizza parlor at about 11:20 a.m., "ambushed" the two officers on break and then crossed the parking lot to the Wal-Mart where they shot a third person and killed themselves, Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie said during a news conference.

"My officers were simply having lunch when the shooting started," he said.

Police identified the two officers as Alyn Beck, 41 years old, and Igor Soldo, 31. Authorities didn't release the names of the other victims.

Wal-Mart expressed its condolences on Twitter to those affected by the "senseless acts of violence in Las Vegas."

(An earlier version of this story misstated the ages of officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo. They were 41 and 31, respectively, not 42 and 32.)
