Financial Stocks Rising in Late Trade; Reinsurance Group Advances After Linking Up with Innodata

Financial stocks were mostly higher with the NYSE Financial Sector Index gaining 0.7% and the S&P Financial 100 Index adding about 0.2%.

In company news, Reinsurance Group of America ( RGA ) shares were higher in late Tuesday trading after announcing a new, strategic relationship with Innodata ( INOD ) using healthcare records to better assess life-insurance risk and for claims investigation.

The deal will allow RGA to extract data and incorporate other data produced by INOD's APS.Extract electronic data feed and customizable reports now being used by insurance carriers and reinsurers.

RGA shares were up 0.5% at $74.64 each shortly before the closing bell, earlier climbing as high as $74.89 a share during today's session. The stock has a 52-week range of $56.66 to $77.58 a share.

INOD shares are up 13% at $3.20 apiece.

In other sector news,

(+) SIVB, Raised to Strong Buy from Outperform at Raymond James.

(-) NHI, Normalized adjusted funds from operations rise $0.03 over year-ago levels to $0.82 per share, trailing the Capital IQ consensus by $0.06 per share. Revenue grows 26.6% year over year to $32.8 mln, topping Street view by almost $1.1 mln.
