ETFs Missing Out on Post-IPO Returns

So far in 2013, U.S. IPO activity has been strong with 131 deals completed, up 44% from last year , and post-IPO returns have been strong with the FTSE Renaissance IPO Index up 35% for the year . The IPO market in 2013 has been good to investors; however, according to Spencer Bogart of IndexUniverse, "To the chagrin of many investors, most ETFs are missing out on the fun. The governing documents of most indexes dictate a "seasoning" period that bars IPO companies from inclusion." Products are being developed by Renaissance Capital to access these unique returns from unseasoned equities.
