Enphase Energy, Inc.
(
ENPH
) has become an inverter partner of CertainTeed for new Solstice
AC Solar Roofing System. CertainTeed is one of the leading
building materials manufacturers and has a wide customer base of
roofing contractors in North America.
After a comprehensive competitive evaluation, CertainTeed chose
Enphase as its exclusive inverter partner as Enphase's
microinverter systems' have long-term, system-wide performance
benefits, reliability and monitoring.
The Solstice AC Solar Roofing System of Enphase M215
microinverter mounted directly to a SolarWorld 250-watt
photovoltaic ("PV") module. It is monitored by Enphase's
Enlighten software.
Enphase M215 Microinverters work mostly with 60-cell solar
modules and generally have a 20-year limited warranty. The
Enphase Microinverter System features Enphase M215
Microinverters, the Envoy Communications Gateway and Enlighten
web-based monitoring and analysis software. This provides
increased design flexibility, simplified installation and remote
system management to the solar systems.
Enphase has shipped over 2.6 million microinverters to customers
in Europe and North America. Recently in October, Enphase
announced that its Enphase Microinverter System will be available
throughout the United Kingdom through authorized distributors.
The AC Solar Roofing System is expected to come on-line in
November 2012.
Enphase continues to experience significant year-over-year
revenue growth. During the third quarter of 2012, the company's
total revenue came in at $60.8 million, up from $44.7 million in
the year-ago quarter. Besides focusing on critical research and
development activities that improve product quality and foster
innovation, the company continues to invest significant resources
to develop new product offerings, and expand its operations into
new product markets.
Further, as a partner of CertainTeed, Enphase can also be chosen
for other ongoing solar projects based on the performance of the
Enphase microinverters. However, the whole solar industry is
surrounded by the imbalance between demand and supply, which
would affect the demand for microinverter systems. The company
presently retains a short-term Zacks #2 Rank (Buy).
Based in Petaluma, California, Enphase Energy, Inc. designs,
develops, and sells microinverter systems for residential and
commercial solar system owners. Its microinverter system consists
of three components, Enphase microinverter, an Envoy
communications gateway device, and Enlighten Web-based software
platform. The company sells its microinverter systems primarily
to distributors, who resell them to solar installers through
original equipment manufacturers and strategic partners; and
directly to large installers.
