Top Energy Stocks
Energy stocks were lower today with the NYSE Energy Sector Index
sinking 0.5% while shares of energy companies in the S&P 500
were down 0.7% as a group. Crude oil for April delivery was up 16
cents at $98.15 per barrel while April natural gas was down 7 cents
at $4.42 per 1 million BTU.
In company news, KiOR Inc (
) fell hard Thursday, with shares shedding nearly 7% after the
biodiesel and cellulosic gasoline producer postponed its Q4
earnings announcement and conference call originally planned for
today until next week.
The company offered no explanation for the delay, stating only
that it will release financial results for the three months ended
Dec. 31 on Monday, March 17, at the same time it files its 10-K
annual report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Shares fell 6.8% to $1.17 apiece, sliding as low as $1.11 a
share and retracing much of their decline last month that pulled
the stock to a 52-week low of $1.10 a share several times between
Feb. 4 through Feb. 7 and again on Feb. 13.

including $400 mln of its 2.7%, 5-year notes priced at 99.85% of
par; $450 mln of 4.4%, 10-year notes priced at 99.83% of par; and

(-) MTDR, (-0.5%) Q4 earnings of $0.23 per share lag Capital IQ
consensus by $0.04. Reaffirms FY14 guidance, forecasting total
production of 2.8 mln to 3.1 mln barrels plus 13.5 bln to 15.0 bln
cubic feet of natural gas.
