ECOtality ( ECTY ), which makes rechargers for electric vehicles, has tumbled 8%, but is still trading far above its recent 52-week trading low of 26 cents. The stock has rallied basically since late November and early December on news of accords with companies such as Sears to locate charger stations at their stores.

Investor sentiment may have soured on the sector for now on negative news surrounding the lithium-ion batteries used by Boeing in its 787 Dreamliner. ECOtality's products recharge lithium-ion batteries in electric cars.
