Earnings season is winding down with well over two-thirds of US companies having brought forth their numbers. But this Tuesday Aug. 10 still has some interesting names worth highlighting, including Disney (NYSE: DIS ) and Cree NASDAQ:( CREE ) , both expected to report after the close, and Fossil (NASDAQ: FOSL ) and Origin Agritech (NASDAQ: SEED ) both due before the market open. Then we get a handful of small solar companies you might recognize from their 2007-2008 heydays when their stocks were all the rage. Below are tables for both groups.

Betting on the sun To give you a good idea of the optimism for small-cap solar companies a few years ago, all you have to do is pull up a 3-4 year chart. JA Solar Holdings ( JASO ) was trading near $26 at is peak and is now a $6 stock. LDK Solar ( LDK ) was above $70 in late 2007 and now trades for $7. SunPower Corp. ( SPWRA ) spiked to $132 in late 2007 and is now trading within a few dollars of its all-time low hit in May at $10.11. And STR Holdings ( STRI ) is the exception to the rule here as it just debuted with its IPO in November 2009 and has rallied steadily from $9.50 to trade above $25 this summer.
