Copper on the rebound on China’s strength

We have said it before but it bears repetition: while metal prices have been building a base, the underlying equity names have had a rockier time. With copper up 2% yesterday amid relief coming out of China, this means there are still some laggard opportunities in the mining group. Freeport McMoRan ( FCX , quote ) embodies the trend, but it too has build a base of sorts around $47.50 to $48: This stock is going higher -- maybe up and down a little, but barring a global swan landing, the bottom is definitely in.
